Forging
Process to shape metal with ultimate strength.
Forging is the process of heating, shaping, forming, and finishing metals. Forgings are made by forcing materials into customized shapes either by the force of a falling ram upon an anvil or by a die press enclosing a piece of metal and squeeze-forming the part. It is stronger, stiffer, and more durable than casting, extrusion, or stamping and has created such legends as Excalibur or the Chaya roller skate trucks.
