Why do you love to skate? The confidence I have found in myself and being able to coach others to see that within themselves.
What keeps you pushing forward in skating? I love learning new things and pushing my body to limits I never thought was possible.
What was your greatest success? Any chance I get to coach feels like a success! I love watching skaters land or do a new skill. To share that excitement and have a part in that feels amazing.
What is your favorite place to skate? I love skating all of the Albuquerque, NM parks but you will find me pushing myself the hardest in my backyard with music playing and beautiful sunsets.
What is your favorite trick? The one-hand Drama flip!
What advice would you like to give? May sound funny, but learn how to “fall”, and utilize your protection gear. Learning how to fall will help with trying new tricks and not fearing the impact because you have learned how to safely roll out or fall safely. We all have our own skate journey but we are all part of the skate community! Your skating should represent your style and your energy! Skating is like the most challenging goal in your life. To perfect your skills means to practice often and to confront your fears means to get up after falling.
Any hobbies outside of skating? I love gardening, paddle boarding, traveling, and coaching.
What is your favorite moment in skating? One night after dozens of failed attempts my son yelled, “I believe in you mom” right before I landed a fakie front handspring aka drama flip and my son threw up his arms and started screaming for me.
